Job Description

Established restaurant in Northeast Minneapolis is seeking a salaried Executive Chef / Kitchen Manager.

We are looking for a driven, knowledgable and creative person to breathe new life into our kitchen. This position will oversee all activity in the kitchen, train personnel, plan menus, oversee product purchasing and manage culinary budget.

Job Responsbilities:

  • Make periodic and regular inspections to insure cleanliness, safety standards and proper maitenence of kitchen and equipment is sustained.
  • Coordinate all training activities for kitchen, bakery and other production employees, including the identification and analysis of training needs and the design and implementation of programs to address these deficiencies.
  • Develop recipes and portion specifications in accordance with consumer tastes, trends, ease of preparation, established procedures and budgetary constraints. Participate as a major contributer in menu development.
  • Display exceptional leadership by providing a positive work environment, counselling employees as appropriate and demonstrating a dedicated and professional approach to management.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

  • Ability to develop menues, delagate to subordinates, control costs, bring energy to kitchen on daily basis.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a management role in Food & Beverage
  • Extensive knowledge of food and bars, familiar with all service styles
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to learn quickly, think critically and show a dedicated work ethic.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Prefer experience supervising, training and developing new staff
